Job Description: We are currently seeking a FT Preoperative and PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. As a Preoperative and PACU RN, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth flow of patients through the perioperative process, from preoperative assessment to post-anesthesia care.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform preoperative assessments, including reviewing medical histories and conducting physical assessments.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
  • Monitor and document patient vital signs and conditions throughout the perioperative period.
  • Provide post-anesthesia care in the PACU, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Assess and manage pain, nausea, and other post-operative symptoms.
  • Ensure patient and family education regarding post-operative care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR).

Required Skills:

  • Current RN license in the state of Louisiana.
  • BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of three years of nursing experience; perioperative or PACU experience is preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
